Installing Siebel CRM IP 2014

For all Open UI freaks, here is the big news. We got Siebel Innovation Pack 2014 released fully loaded with all HI features and leaving all shortcomings far behind. Well I got late to announce this.. 😛

Our installation include below items:

• Siebel Developer/Mobile Web Client
• Siebel Tools
• Siebel Sample Database

If you already installed 8.1.1.11, its easier for you. But 8.1.1.14 can be installed stand alone or upgrade from older one.
One bad news is, its only available for 64-bit windows OS.

Lets classify this upgrade into various steps:

• Download and extract the installation archives
• Create the installation image
• Install the patch
• Copy the new sample database and SRF files (optional)
• Test

Download and extract the installation archives

Log in to Oracle’s Software Delivery Cloud and search for Siebel CRM forMicrosoft Windows (64 bit). we have to click the hyperlink for

Siebel Industry Applications Innovation Pack 2014 Release 8.1.1.14 Media Pack for Microsoft Windows

Then we download the following archives and save them in a single directory. Please use any download manager to read inside zip and download only specific jar files. Below listed files are the minimum one.

Create the installation image

Set JAVA_HOME (set JAVA_HOME=C:Program FilesJavajre1.7.0_45) environment variable points to a valid Java SDK. Then run snic.bat.
Proceed through the dialogues as usual, choosing the following options:

• Create a new image
• Create only a patch image
• Location: Choose a target directory
• Platform: Windows
• Products: Siebel Web Client and Siebel Tools
• Languages: ENU and any other you might need
• When the wizard completes, you will find the Siebel installation image files in the target directory. 

Install the patch

To install the patches, navigate to the installation image folder for the respective product and open the Disk1/install subdirectory. Launch the setup.bat file.
Most important now we got smart installer which ask for everything like
New Installation OR Migration (its ur choice)
Enable Open UI OR not (It will enable Open UI on all cfg files)
